MARAUDERS HIRE R.J. GORDON AS QB COACH
R.J. Gordon will join Marauder Football next season as the quarterback coach.
R.J. Gordon returns to Antelope Valley College as the Marauders' quarterbacks coach, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the program. Previously, Gordon served as the Marauders' quarterbacks coach from 2017 to 2021, during which he also developed and facilitated the team's strength and conditioning program in 2020 and 2021.
After leaving Antelope Valley College in 2022, Gordon joined Quartz Hill High School as the quarterbacks coach in 2023. He later served as an offensive consultant during the 2024 season, continuing to demonstrate his expertise in player development and offensive strategy.
As a player, Gordon was an accomplished quarterback at Campbell Hall High School, where he earned All-CIF honors and shattered multiple school passing records. During his prep career, he amassed over 5,000 passing yards and 50 touchdowns, leading the Vikings to multiple 7+ win seasons. After high school, he continued his playing career at Antelope Valley College before transferring to the University of Pikeville (UPIKE). At UPIKE, Gordon excelled as a utility player, seeing time at quarterback and receiver, contributing to the team's 2016 Mid-South Conference Championship. That same year, he received the prestigious Champion of Character Award for his outstanding community service with local youth sports programs and Hospice of the Bluegrass. A dedicated student-athlete, Gordon was twice named an NAIA Scholar Athlete, graduating with a 3.8 GPA.
Following his playing career, Gordon transitioned into coaching, serving as an offensive student assistant at the University of Pikeville before returning to California to begin his coaching journey at Antelope Valley College.
In addition to his coaching career, Gordon is a full-time special education teacher with Elite Academic Academy, where he demonstrates his commitment to empowering students both on and off the field. He is also a NASM-certified fitness trainer, further showcasing his dedication to physical development and performance.
R.J. lives in Lancaster, California, with his wife Sara, their daughters Mila and Alina, and their two Rottweilers, Luna and Bella. His passion for coaching, education, and personal development continues to make a lasting impact on his players and community.
