WOODLAND HILLS - The Marauder women's soccer team battled but in the end Pierce College scored two second half goals and claimed a 3-0 victory over AVC, Tuesday afternoon at Pierce College.
After easy season opening victory, the Marauders fell to 1-1. The Brahmas improved their record to 2-0, and have outscored their opponents 6-0 this season.
"I thought the girls played well, but we need to clean up some details," AVC head coach Charles Gordon said. "This game will definitely serve as a big learning tool for us. We look forward to this loss procviding us strength moving forward."
The Marauders only trailed 1-0 at halftime, but Pierce was able to take control in the second half, including goals by Adriana Sosa and Gisel Cruz at the 69th and 84th minute respectively.
The Brahmas outshot AVC, 17-11. Goalkeeper Gabriela Espinoza finished with five saves for the Marauders.
AVC takes the field again on Friday when it travels to Glendale College to face the Vaqueros (0-1) at 5pm.
