SIMI VALLEY - The Marauder women's golf team hit a slight snag Monday afternoon as it finished with only two players breaking 100, at the Simi Hills Golf Course hosted by Moorpark College.
"We had an off day today," AVC head coach George Fetters said. "The course was hilly and very windy causing some frustration from the participants."
The Marauders were led by Michaela Klundt, who finished tied for second by shooting an 81. The winning score was a 79 shot by players from Moorpark and Bakersfield College. Santa Barbara City College won the overall team meet again as it had five golfers finish in the 80s. AVC finished sixth overall.
Emma Watson was the only other AVC golfer to shoot below 100, finishing with a 99. All other Marauder golfers shot in the 100s, which has been uncharacteristic as of late for them as they have consistently had four to five shoot below 100.
AVC will play the Western State Conference Championship tournament on Oct. 29-30 at the Kern River Golf Course, hosted by Bakersfield College.
