WATSON SCORES SEASON-HIGH 28 POINTS AS MARAUDERS FALL TO BAKERSFIELD

Jadis Watson scored a season-best 28 points to go along with a game-high 15 rebounds in a 62-55 loss to Bakersfield on Wednesday. Watson leads the Marauders in rebounds on the season, averaging 15.5 per game. She's also averaging 13.4 points per game, second behind team leader Bailey Cassell's 13.8 points per game.
Down 11 points at the half, AVC rallied in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Renegades 25 to 8. Heading into the final period with a 7-point lead, Bakersfield's offense came back to life as they outscored the Marauders 22 to 8.
Bailey Cassell finished with 9 points, 4 assists, and 5 steals. Eriona Williams had 7 points and 6 assists, and she matched her season-high in rebounds with 10. Vanessa Fletes had 6 points, while Kristen Lopez finished with 5 points.
The Marauders will need to finish the season strong to have any hopes of making the playoffs. They are on the road at Glendale and Citrus before their last regular-season game on February 18 against LA Valley.
