CASSELL LEADS MARAUDERS TO BIG WIN OVER WEST LA

Women's Basketball scored a season-high points in their 73-56 win over the West LA Wildcats on Wednesday. Bailey Cassell led the way with a game-high 21 points for the Marauders. The freshmen guard from Pete Knight High School also had 7 rebounds and a game-high 5 assists.
Antelope Valley outscored West LA in the first two periods to take a 13-point lead at the halfway mark. AVC remained hot in the 3rd quarter as both Cassell and Kristen Lopez went 2-2 from behind the 3-point line. Lopez finished with a season-high 15 points. Jadis Watson had 17 points and 16 rebounds to record her sixteenth double-double of the season. She also had 4 assists and 3 blocks on the night.
Eriona Williams had 9 points to go along with 9 rebounds, while Vanessa Fletes had 10 rebounds and 4 points. Sara Heier and Sienna Rodriguez combined for 7 points and 7 rebounds off the bench. AVC held West LA to 22% shooting from the field while shooting 35% and going 19-23 from the free-throw line.
The Marauders, now 11-11 overall and 4-4 in conference play, will face a 16-4 Bakersfield team on Wednesday, 2/9.
