WALNUT - Marauder women's basketball coach Barry Green said that his team needed to shoot the ball well in order to advance in the state playoffs.
It didn't.
The Marauders shot only 25 percent from the field and were 1-of-17 from 3-point range and were ousted from the playoffs by host Mt. SAC, 69-42, Saturday night at Mt. SAC.
AVC's poor start to the game helped the Mounties build a 45-16 lead at halftime.
Deja Smith led the Marauders with 15 points and connected on the only 3-pointer for AVC and Katilin Stephenson chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds.
