LANCASTER - It's been since the 2009-2010 season, but the Marauder women's basketball team isback on top.
For the first time in seven years, when it was Foothill Conference champions, the Marauders earned a share of the Western State Conference title with an easy 60-36 victory against Glendale College, Saturday night at Marauder Gymnasium.
Ashley Shaw had probably her best game of the season as she finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. AVC had three other players score in double figures including Brieanna Perkins and Deja Smith, who each scored 12 points and Makaela Manson added 11.
The Marauders were never in really any imminent danger as they took a 37-26 lead into the fourth quarter. AVC exploded by outscoring the Vaqueros 23-10 the final 10 minutes of the game.
The Marauders scored 28 points in the paint and had 17 points off 12 Glendale turnovers.
