FOUR MARAUDERS RECEIVE ALL-CONFERENCE RECOGNITION FOR SOFTBALL
Marauder Softball's Natalia Hernandez, Kylie Zinn, Jolene Miramontes, and Helena Loera received WSC All-Conference awards.
Marauder Softball's Natalia Hernandez, Kylie Zinn, Jolene Miramontes, and Helena Loera received WSC All-Conference awards.
Hernandez earned 1st Team All-Conference and CCCAA All-Southern California recognition. The freshman from California City led AVC in hits with an impressive 45 while maintaining a low strikeout rate of only 14 times on the season. She ranked 2nd in the conference in home runs with 9, just behind teammate Kylie Zinn, who had led all batters with 10.
Zinn received 2nd Team honors while leading the conference in RBI with 41. The sophomore outfielder from Lancaster High School finished the season with an impressive .674 slugging percentage.
Jolene Miramontes also received 2nd Team honors. She boasted a team-high .369 batting average while recording 41 hits and 27 RBI. Miramontes is a freshman from Coachella Valley who also pitched 74 innings for AVC.
Freshman pitcher Helena Loera received an honorable mention. With 108 strikeouts on the year, she ranked fourth in the conference.
