MARAUDER SOFTBALL'S ROBERTS NAMED CONFERENCE PITCH OF YEAR, FOUR OTHERS NAMED TO ALL-CONF TEAMS

Marauder Softball landed five players on the All-Western State, including their second straight Conference Pitcher of the Year in Taylor Roberts, it was announced today. Marauder Softball is currently 28-11 overall and finished 13-3 and second in conference.
Roberts, who was also named All-State, becomes the Marauders' 16th Conference Pitcher of the Year, and the 15th individual to earn that honor. Roberts ended the regular season 22-10 overall and 12-3 in conference. She has an overall 2.78 ERA with 119 strikeouts. Like many Marauder PoYs, Taylor also significantly helped herself at the plate. She led AVC with with a .434 average, which puts her fifth in the Marauder season record charts, 14 home runs (tied for fifth) and 66 RBI (third). She had a .912 slugging percentage, which jumped to 1.132 during conference play. She is currently second in the state in RBI and tied for fourth in home runs.
Joining Roberts on the first team were Isabelle Gomez, who was second for the Marauders with a .421 average, which jumped to .500 in conference play as well as Ashley Fiorelli who hit .351 and was second for the Marauders in RBIs (41) and home runs (7).
Named to the second team were Alexis Robles who hit .356 overall and .396 in conference play and Valerie Dorantes who hit .376 and was walked 25 times.
Katie Weiser and Kaitlynn Dardar were named Honorable Mention.
