MARAUDER SOFTBALL BATS EXPLODE WITH SECOND STRAIGHT POUNDING

OXNARD - The Marauder softball team pounded out 13 hits and built a big lead easily defeating Oxnard College, 13-5, in six innings Thursday afternoon.
It was the second consecutive game in which AVC put up big numbers. The Marauders defeated Moorpark 9-1 on Tuesday, collecting their first win of the season.
In the last two games AVC has scored 22 runs and had 26 hits. Maria Acosta continued her recent tear at the plate against Oxnard as she doubled and tripled and had four RBI. Rebecca Whelchel joined in on the hit parade by finishing with three hits and three RBI.
Acosta pitched four innings of scoreless ball, while striking out six. AVC jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning. The Marauders scored five more runs the next three innings and dominated the game with a 10-0 lead. Four players had multiple hits for AVC.
