VOLLEYBALL OUTLASTS EL CAMINO IN CONFERENCE OPENER

AVC Men's Volleyball opened WSC Conference play with a 3-2 win over the El Camino Warriors on Friday. The Marauders came out strong, winning set one 25-19. They dropped the second set by the same score but responded to take a close third set 25-22. El Camino came back with a 25-18 win in the fourth to force a fifth and final set.
AVC regained momentum in the tie-breaker and outlasted the Warriors 15-12. They were led by Nolan Taflinger, who had a team-high 16 kills along with 10 digs. Luis Guerra finished with 15 kills and 13 digs. Guerra leads the Marauders in kills on the season with 91. Eddie Reyes had a team-leading 19 digs, while Tim Talabong had 19 digs and 9 kills. Connor Wachala had a busy day dishing out 52 assists with 9 kills, 9 digs, 5 aces, and 4 blocks.
Antelope Valley is 4-4 overall and 1-0 in conference. They are on the road at LA Pierce and Long Beach before returning home to face Moorpark on March 15 at 6:00 pm.
