AVC Men's Soccer continued their excellent play with a 5-2 win over Long Beach on Friday. The Marauders rallied behind the solid play of Rodrigo Martinez and Bryan Lima. Lima scored the first goal of the day off an assist from Kevin Bougha in the 32nd minute. Long Beach wasted little time matching the score with an unassisted goal from Gustavo Cervantes in the 38th minute. AVC then went up by one in the 56th minute when Martinez scored off an assist from Lima.
The Vikings again answered right back when Alexander Moreno scored in the 60th minute. With Lima pushing the pace, the Marauders retook the lead in the 74th minute. Christopher Cortez took the assist from lima and scored his second goal of the season to put AVC up 3-2.
The Marauders stayed aggressive as they scored two more insurance goals. Aubrey Canon scored on an assist from Martinez in the 82nd minute, and Joseph Perez took an assist from Lima and scored in the 90th minute for AVC's fifth goal of the day.
The Marauders improved to 3-0 on the season and will face a tough Fullerton team on the road on Tuesday, before returning home to face Sequoias on Friday, September 13th.
