AVC Men's Soccer started their season with a 2-1 victory over Imperial Valley. Imperial Valley jumped out to an early lead on a goal by Oscar Montano in the 11th minute. The Marauders were able to regroup in the 54th minute when #11 Bryan Lima scored off the assist by #28 Sebastyan Enriquez. Lima led the team in shot attempts with five.
The game stayed tied 1-1 until the 87th minute when #9 Joseph Perez scored the go-ahead goal. Dylan Gonzalez provided the assist after a cross by Rodrigo Martinez. Perez had four shot attempts in the game.
Goalkeeper Matt Garcia has two saves while Dakota Duncan had one. "I was proud of our guys for staying composed and playing hard on both sides of the ball until the last whistle," said Coach Stupar.
The Marauders are 1-0 and will take on Chaffey College on Friday, August 30th at 4:00 pm at AVC.
