MEN'S SOCCER BATTLES TO SECURE WIN IN 88TH MINUTE

The Mauraders bounced back after a tough match versus El Camino, which hindered their scoring opportunities. Increased shot production versus Moorpark was the goal for the Marauders which increased the goals for and GFA, securing the 3-2 win for AVC.
The first goal was scored by Andrew Mitchell from an assist by Sebastyan Enriquez 20 minutes into the game. Six minutes later, Cameron Taylor scored from an assist on a perfect pass from Juan Gallardo (26:00). AVC was up 2-0 at half, but Moorpark was able to adjust and connected on two goals in the second half at 57 and 61 minutes. Moorpark's first goal came from from 30 yards out on a reverse volley, which caught AVC off guard from an unexpected shot attempt facing opposite of AVC's goal. Moorpark took advantage of the adrenaline rush from the goal and equalized the game four minutes later.
The next 29 minutes was a war with both sides attacking eachother to fight for the win. However, the Mauraders relentless desire to battle until the end secured the game winner on the 88th minute by Taylor's second goal of the match, assisted by Ernesto Guevara.
"The composure of our offensive team in the attacking third down the strech was impressive but I must say that the MVP of the match was Goalkeeper Matt Garcia who preserved the win on two Division I saves," stated Head Soccer Coach Jerry Stupar.
Matt Garcia ended the match with 7 saves / 2 GA / 90 min.
