MEN'S SOCCER REMAINS UNBEATEN AT HOME
Antelope Valley College men's socce remains unbeaten at home. Visiting Pasadena College was yet another tester for the program to see the potential for the 2018 season for AVC which has 8 out of 11 continous Freshman Starters.
"We knew coming into this match that Pasadena would be very tough as they are every year however, the confidence we have in our depth chart is what keeps us competitive for 90 minutes", stated Head Soccer Coach Jerry Stupar.
The first AVC goal came at the 10th minute by Christian Gonzalez with an assist from Cameron Taylor. Pasadena was very technical on the ball with rapid pace and was attempting to utilize #2 Bryce Watson frequently on the outside flank but the Mauraders were able to recognize the threat and neutralize it. The second goal for AVC came from Joseph Perez in the 33rd minute and again was assisted by Cameron Taylor to give the Mauraders a 2-0 lead at half time.
The second half saw an outburst of offensive pressure by Pasaenda but faded in time as AVC's depth chart maintained pace for the full 90 minutes. Goalkeeper Dakota Duncan continues to show consistency in the net along with a strong back line led by Dylan Gonzalez.
The Shot chart was (AVC 8 - Pasadena 7 ) with possession split 50-50 % for most of the game except the final 10 minutes in which AVC had more attempts on Frame which were unsuccessful. AVC plays next on the Tuesday on the road at Santa Monica College who are undefeated ( 4 - 0 ).
