MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO CLOVIS, 0-1
Antelope Valley College Men's Soccer traveled to Fresno over Labor Day weekend to play Clovis College in its first of two games over the holiday weekend after their annual Sacramento Consumnes River tournament was canceled this season.
Clovis came out very defensive and limited AVC shot production to 8 shot attempts in the match. ( AVC 8 - Clovis 5). "Observing that their roster was almost entirely Freshman, I was shocked in how well Clovis possessed the ball. Although we limited their shooting to just 5 shots, they were able to get a follow-up goal off a rebound shot in the 29th minute", stated Head Coach Jerry Stupar.
AVC came out strong in the second half equalizing possession to 50%-50% on the match and scored a goal in 65th minute by Sebastian Enriquez however, the goal was called back in a controversial foul while shooting the ball. Strong defensive play by Sophomore Kevin Colin whom held standout Clovis player #10 to a quiet game with no stats. Goal Keeper #00 Dakota Duncan had 1 goal against / 3 saves / and played 90min.
The 0-1 loss for AVC brings their overall record to (0-1-1).
