LANCASTER - Carlos Cruz, Matthew Fletes and Jose Mojica each scored a goal and added an assist helping lead the Marauder men's soccer team to an easy 4-2 victory over Consumnes River College, Saturday afternoon at Marauder Stadium.
It was Mojica's 10th goal of the season, which is second in the state behind San Diego City College's Francisco Contreras who leads the state with 12.
Fletes opened the scoring with a goal in the 19th minute off the assist from Mojica. Within the same minute Consumnes River (3-3-0) rallied to tie the score. However, that momentum was short lived as Cruz responded with a goal giving the Marauders (3-2-1) a 2-1 lead, which they took into halftime.
"This was a huge win for us," AVC head coach Jerry Stupar said.
AVC took a 3-1 lead following a goal by Ramon Duran. Mojica capped the impressive night for the Marauders with an unassisted goal at 81:51.
