Conditions were great as the Marauders competed at Stockdale CC, the home course for Bakersfield College, on Monday.
Jacob Valente led AVC with a 76, while Brennen Boulger was next with a 79. Derrick Rossmango (80), Miguel Cullum (82), and Patrick Studdert (89) all folwed with scores in the eighties.
"To compete in the best conference in the state with ideal scoring conditions, you must get all 5 to contribute with scores in the 70s, and we failed to do that today." stated head coach Brad Hazard.
Sophomore Brennen Bulger was in the top 10 in league scoring average last year but has struggled this season. He shot 1 under on his back 9 today at Stockdale.
"I know he's been frustrated with his play, so it was good to see him put together a round in the 70s. I hope to see him continue the momentum into the second half of the season," said Hazard.
Jacob Valente continues to play well and compete for the top spot in the league. Valente was able to piece together another low score by minimizing his mistakes and by getting up and down on many of the holes.
AVC's next tournament is Monday, March 9th, at Santa Maria CC.
