AVC Basketball hosted last weekend's 72nd Annual Gregg Anderson Memorial Basketball Tournament. The Marauders finished the weekend with a 101-58 victory over Imperial Valley, a 101-95 win over Victor Valley, and a 65-62 loss to Pasadena City in the Championship game.
Mister Burnside, Malik Larane, and Josef Major received runner-up All-Tournament recognition. Burnside led AVC in points (69) and assists (19) for the tournament while also grabbing 21 rebounds. The 6'3 Freshman from Paraclete High School recorded a triple-double against Victor Valley with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Malik Larane also shined throughout the tournament with double-digit points in all three games. He totaled 55 points to go along with 19 rebounds and 10 assists for the weekend.
Tony Corley led the Marauders in rebounds with 29, while Josef Major contributed 42 points and 17 rebounds.
Ashton Eckert received the tournament's 110% Award, and Ripine Vagaia earned the AVC Inspirational Award.
AVC is now 4-5 and will face Porterville on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 5:00 p.m. at AVC.
