SOPHOMORES HONORED AS MARAUDERS TAKE DOWN TOP SEEDED CITRUS

AVC Men's Basketball outlasted the No. 1 ranked Citrus Owls 74-66 on Wednesday.
Before tip-off, The Marauders honored sophomores Habib Arogundade, Dion Troupe, Angelo Solis, William Harold, and Tyriq Perry.
Arogundade finished his one-year career at AVC, averaging 9.4 points 3.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. Troupe played two seasons for the Marauders and shot 46.8% from the field, including over 40% from 3-point land over 23 games.
Angelo Solis finished with 142 rebounds and shot 44% from the field in 709 minutes over two seasons. William Harold, who also played two seasons for the Marauders, scored 109 points and grabbed 79 rebounds while playing over 362 minutes.
Starter Tyriq Perry finished his two years at AVC with 279 points and 198 rebounds. Perry had 18 blocks, and 21 steals for the Marauders.
Once Wednesday's action began, Habib Arogundade and Da'Jour Lewis led the way with 16 points each as the Marauders came out on top. Arogundade also had 9 rebounds.
The first half was fast-paced, but AVC outscored the Owls 37-32. The second half brought physical play along with that fast pace as both teams trading momentum with big shots. But Lewis had 12 of his 16 points to help the Marauders outscore Citrus by three points, giving AVC the 8-point win.
Tyriq Perry finished with a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Mekhi Smith had 10 points and 4 assists in the win.
The Marauders finished shooting 40% from the field while holding the Owls to 32.8%. AVC will close out the regular season on the road against LA Valley on Friday with hopes of making the play-offs.
