SAN BERNARDINO - It finally happened for the first time this season.
The Marauder men's basketball team actually led at halftime of one of its games, albeit by only one point. Still no matter.
The Marauders are undefeated this season when leading at halftime, however, it's only been once this season.
But it's something AVC can build on as it dominated the second half against Barstow with an easy 80-61 victory over the Vikings, Saturday afternoon at the San Bernardino Valley College Tournament.
The Marauders (2-4), which snapped a four-game losing skid, will play in the consolation championship game against the winner of the Riverside College-Victor Valley College game. The Marauders were defeated by Riverside earlier this season at the Ventura College Tournament.
All five starters for AVC scored in double figures, led by Cory Dollarhide, who finished with 15 points and three 3-pointers. Charles Hall finished with 12 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Antone Warren collected his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
"I want this to be the turning point (of the season). We have to see how we perform tomorrow," Dollarhide said. "We just kept our foot on the pedal. Coach told us to act like we're down 15. We were able to finish."
AVC outscored the Vikings (3-3), which entered the game averaging more than 80 points per game, 44-26 in second half.
