MARAUDERS WIN 7 OUT OF LAST 8 WITH VICTORY OVER BARSTOW
Preston Johnston got his second win of the season as AVC Baseball held on to beat the Barstow Vikings 4-1 on Wednesday.

AVC Baseball held on to beat the Barstow Vikings 4-1 on Wednesday. Preston Johnston got his second win of the season as Patrick Berry picked up the save.
It was scoreless heading into the bottom of the 3rd inning when Nathan Duarte hit a triple to right field to score Braden Courter. Frankie Linstrom then hit an RBI single to left, bringing home Duarte.
Duarte finished 5-for-5 with an RBI. He leads the Marauders in RBI on the season with 13 and is currently batting .512.
AVC would add to the lead in the next inning when Nathan Hernandez grounded out with a sacrifice bunt to score Anthony Cuellar. Hernandez went 2-for-4 on the day with 2 RBI. Cuellar was 1-for-3 with a walk.
The Marauders gave up one run in the 8th inning but got it right back when Hernandez hit an RBI double scoring Colin Hagen. Hagen was 1-for-1 on the day.
AVC (9-4) has won three straight and will face Victor Valley and Citrus on the road before returning home to battle Citrus on March 5th at 2:00 pm.
