LANCASTER - The Marauder baseball team lost 9-1 to Citrus College, but defeated the Owls two days later 5-3 at Marauder Stadium.
In the victory on Saturday, Michael Behen was 2-for-3 with one run scored and two doubles. Kyle Lathrop, Anthony Parisi and Daulton Stanton each had a double for the Marauders. Ethan Avant added a triple for AVC.
The Marauders did all their damage in the bottom of the fifth inning when they scored four runs. Joseph Cochran and Stanton each had two RBI for AVC.
Ryan Hanzel had a solid outing for the Marauders as he pitched five innings allowing only three runs and five hits. Middle-reliever Peter Rejniak pitched three innings and only allowed one hit, while striking out three. Andrew Garcia pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save.
In the loss to Citrus, Daniel Gomes was 3-for-4 with the lone RBI for AVC. The Marauders struggled in the field by committing four errors.
