LANCASTER - John Serrato was 3-for-3 at the plate, but it was not enough as the Marauder baseball team lost its second game in a row, losing to Taft College, 4-3, Thursday afternoon at Marauder Stadium.
Serrato drove in Kyle Lathrop in the bottom of the second inning to cut Taft's lead to 2-1. Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Lathrop hit a sacrifice fly which scored Michael Behen and the Marauders only trailed 3-2.
Taft extended its lead to 4-2, but AVC, which could never get over the hump, scored a run in the bottom of the seventh following an RBI triple by Ethan Avant, scoring Serrato. However, Avant would be stranded at third and the rally was over.
