Bio

Prior to Antelope Valley College, Coach Gordon Was the Head Football Coach and Associate Athletic Director at La Salle High School for six seasons.  Gordon took over a struggling program that was 1-19 prior to his arrival. In Gordon’s first season he turned the Lancers program around and helped guide them to a 10-1 season and he was named the NFL coach of the week and the Offensive Coordinator of the Year for the San Gabriel Tribune. The Lancers quickly climbed from division 10 to one of the top leagues in Southern California the Angelus League. The Lancers went 36-28 overall during Gordon’s six-year run and went to the playoffs three times. In 2016 La Salle went to the Quarterfinals and finished 7-5 overall.

Prior to La Salle High School, coach Gordon was the Head Football Coach at Campbell Hall High School, where he had a tenure of 15 years. In his eight years as the Head Coach at Campbell, he compiled a 51-37 overall record. Gordon had taken Campbell Hall to the post-season four of his eight years, including a trip to the CIF Finals. Gordon was named CIF Coach of the Year in 2005 and was the Head Coach for the East in the 2012 Daily News All-Star game where his team was victorious. Gordon has a record for preparing his athletes for the next level and has placed 28 of his former players onto collegiate football Rosters and two of which played in the NFL

Gordon has had great success not only with his winning percentage and sending Student-Athletes to the next level, but also in making sure that student-athletes learn to be accountable for their actions while learning lifelong lessons that they can implement into their daily living.

Coach Gordon and his wife (of 17 years) Veronica have 3 children, RJ Gordon 27 years old and is a Special Education instructor at Oak Tree School, Allissa Gordon 19 years old and is a Junior in college, and Derrick Gordon who is 16 years old and a soon to be junior at Quartz Hill High School. Coach Gordon’s family has a rich tradition of coaching in the Antelope Valley his father was a long-time soccer coach and worked full time at Antelope Valley College. His brother was a long-time Quartz Hill Girls Soccer coach and is now the Men’s and Women’s head soccer coach at Antelope Valley College. Coach Gordon’s son RJ is the quarterback coach at Antelope Valley College. The Gordon brothers both played football for Antelope Valley college in 1993.
